The UHV Project is the Business Card of "Created in China" Going to the World

Recently, Premier Li Keqiang and Brazilian President Rousseff jointly attended the video groundbreaking ceremony of the beautiful landscape UHVDC transmission project at the presidential palace in Brasilia. The project is the first UHV transmission project won by the State Grid Corporation of China overseas. Due to China's long-term pursuit of local power balance, energy allocation over-reliance on coal transmission, low proportion of transmission, structural imbalance, energy supply chain is very weak. In the past 10 years, more than 70% of the new railway capacity has been used to support the growth of coal capacity. Due to frequent traffic jams on expressways, a large number of thermal power plants have been shut down every year due to coal shortage. This unscientific development method has brought about a series of problems such as rising coal prices, reduced energy efficiency, and traffic congestion, which have become a stubborn disease that plagues economic and social development.
  
At present, the comprehensive strength of my country's manufacturing industry has greatly improved. "Made in China" has spread all over the world. With the advantages of labor and resources, China is becoming the world's labor-intensive industrial capital and production link transfer target, thus forming an industrial chain and industrial foundation. From a domestic point of view, the carrying space of resources and environment is getting smaller and smaller, and the task of transformation and upgrading of "made in China" is more arduous. It is very important and urgent to speed up the climb to the high end and realize the leap from "made in China" to "created in China.
  
The UHV transmission technology, led by the State Grid Corporation of China, has become the most difficult and complex power technology achievement so far, giving birth to the "Chinese Standard". At present, China has compiled 19 relevant international standards in terms of UHV and smart grid technology standard system, and has complete independent intellectual property rights. China's UHV transmission standard is set as an international standard internationally. This means that competitors from other countries must be "in line" with China's UHV standards, and must play cards according to the rules of the game formulated by China's technical standards, otherwise they will only be out of the competition. UHV is a major technology with independent innovation, the world's first, international standard dominance and strong competitive advantage in my country's energy field. Like high-speed rail and manned spaceflight, it is an important symbol of national innovation capabilities and comprehensive strength.
  
As the first UHV transmission project invested by China abroad, the beautiful mountain project in Brazil is of great significance to promote UHV transmission technology, equipment and experience to go abroad and promote China's high-end technology to the world. Therefore, only by firmly grasping the core competitiveness of UHV technology can we seize the opportunity, expand the larger space to the world stage, and make China's UHV go smoothly and long-term overseas, and then make UHV a well-deserved "national weapon" in the new era, and become the glory and pride of China's science and technology.
