Cross-linked cable market is still optimistic

According to statistics from the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, from January to August 2007, the output of power generation equipment was 81 million kilowatts, an increase of 16.17 percent over the same period last year. For the development momentum of power generation equipment, the unanimous evaluation given by industry experts is "completely unexpected".

Xu Yingnan, director of the Power Generation Equipment Center of the China Machinery Industry Federation, pointed out that the growth momentum of power generation equipment in the next 1-2 years will still be very strong, because the foreseeable new installed capacity in 2008 will be 70 million -80 million kilowatts, and this level will be maintained in 2009.

According to power experts, in recent years, the power industry has put forward the principle of "appropriate advance" industry development, that is, in view of the electricity shortage phenomenon in recent years, the power elasticity coefficient should be maintained at about 1 to support the growth of GDP. Judging from this, even if it is conservatively estimated that if the annual GDP growth remains 9% in the future, then the annual installed capacity of electricity will be about 60 million kilowatts. Therefore, the power generation equipment manufacturing industry will maintain a high growth trend in the medium and long term in the future.

The demand for cross-linked cables increases with the installed capacity of new power generation equipment, and every new 10000 kW power generation equipment needs to be equipped with 25-30km of cross-linked cables. By the end of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", the annual demand for 10 ~ 35kV cross-linked cables in the country is estimated at about 150000km, of which the amount of waterproof cross-linked cables is about 20%.
